Life on Amazing Sunset Farm has been busy this kidding season, to say the least! We had 24 kids, all went to the new homes except the couple I retained. This doubled from last year so we have been busy adjusting and making improvements in the nursery and organizing ourselves to prepare fore even more kidding's for 2022.
We were very pleased with our 2021 kidding season, the quality of the babies and their great temperaments were beyond our hopes and goals. We had 6 sets of triplets this year with 2 being from first time Mamas!! Misty Blue out did herself as did Harley with some awesome kids.
We have added 2 Mini Nubian does to the breeding line-up for a total of 6 to kid this next season. We also added 2 Pygmy does for a total of 6 to kid. We added 2 Nigerian Dwarf does to the line-up for a total of 5 does to kid. Lastly, we added 2 San Clemente Island does to the lineup for 4 does to kid this next season.
We have been building our 2022 wait list and want to make sure everyone is on the list that should be. If you haven't asked to be added yet, please contact me to add you with your phone number, name and location, what breed or breeding, and sec, characteristics, etc.
We will be breeding the Pygmies and SCIs first and waiting a few weeks gap and then breeding the Nigerian Dwarfs and Mini Nubians. We will also be looking for people interested in goats milk on a regular basis. Those interested in fresh or frozen, please contact me to be put on the milk list. I also have frozen milk available now.
We are renovating the nursery to have permanent kidding stalls, along with a wash station and milking station.
New to the farm is our studio we are finishing where we will make goats milk soap and lotion.
I have embarked with a partner on a new business for breeders websites made easy. And we are also building a database of everything goats, more to come.....I am combining my knowledge of technology and my love of goats. We are excited to see how this takes off.
I will start to send out more informational posts on my website and FB group so please stay tuned to these.
I hope you all enjoying your summer with the COVID ease. Enjoy the outdoors and your goats😁
The 2022 breeding schedule is done and I will be posting it on the website shortly. I also have one nice buck for sale and will have him posted too.
Stay tuned for more updates.......Debbie
